Occupational Therapist
Megan is another of our valued Occupational Therapists at Stepping Stones. Megan completed a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at Curtin University in 2014 and moved into Paediatrics in 2021 after having first made her mark in the resources industry as a Health and Safety Advisor in NSW, the Pilbara, and the fast-paced corporate world in Perth.
Megan has a passion for working with children and understands the benefit of movement and play in the regulation of sensory systems. She has experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and Down Syndrome. Megan also has a keen interest in mental wellbeing and supporting the whole team and family around the child to maximise functional outcomes and goal achievement.
Since joining the Stepping Stones team Megan has undertaken extensive upskilling in Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD), the Zones of Regulation, understanding sleep difficulties, the Key Worker model of service provision, sexuality and puberty in disability, and Attention Autism which has enabled her to gain an understanding of evidence based interventions and strategies to promote attention, social / communication skills, and independence around activities of daily living.
Megan is dedicated to a career in Paediatric Occupational Therapy and continues to develop her expertise with ongoing training, supervision, and professional development in order to become an expert in our field.
Outside of work you may see Megan playing tennis with her family, baking, or trail riding with her horses and dog.
