Senior Speech Pathologist
Joanna Ettridge (nee McDougall) is another valued Speech Pathologist at Stepping Stones Therapy Services, but is currently on maternity leave as she gets to know her second beautiful daughter.
Jo has completed training in the use of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), Hanen 'More than Words' program, PROMPT and PODD AAC training. Jo has an interest in literacy, and has completed Sounds Write training. Sounds Write is a phonics program, endorsed by Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation, which is suitable for all ages.
Jo has also completed training in working through Family Centred Practice, the Key Worker Model, Routines Based Assessment and Intervention and the Positive Behaviour Support model.
Jo has also completed training in Orofacial Myology, which looks at how the muscles in the face and jaw are working and the impact it can have on eating/swallowing and speaking. Jo can provide assistance with chewing and swallowing issues, thumb sucking, incorrect speech patterns and posture issues. Jo can provide therapy in the areas of articulation, expressive language, comprehension, literacy, stuttering and social skills; with both ‘neurotypical’ and disability populations. She grew up in the Great Southern region of WA, and is passionate about continuing to provide services in regional areas.
